I started touching and pushing my Nvidia card in the slot while I looked at the ping times and I noticed how the ping times fluctuated from very bad to good A true balanced setup would indeed reject noise entirely, but your setup is not balanced. It's a fairly common issue with onboard sound.

It won't take it unfortunately, though as a last resort I suppose I could get a DTA and put it next to my receiver away from the computer.

These too had no affect There aren't any inputs 'open'. I have tried plugging my mouse and keyboard into a different USB (I also just unplugged them again to make sure) to no avail.
