But look how far we've come in just that last 20 - 30 years. However on my home network where I have the previous two XP variants, they will assign "F" to the USB device rendering it invisible. But suprisingly after removal and re-insertion of just that drive it does not get the free drive letter, XP persists with the previously allocated letter so it remians lost for ever!
